


Ambassadors to the World: Universe Ambassador™ 2009
DAWNA LEE HEISING, MBA, Ph.D.
Dawna Heising, former World Ambassador 2008, is a member of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) and belonged to the Friends and
Artists Equity Waiver Theatre Group and worked as a swimsuit model for many years. Dawna has acted in film, TV and theatre
productions, including "Fantasy Island", "The New Gidget", "Bring 'Em Back Alive and was Cleo, the Snake Dancer, in the last
"Magnum, P.I." Her uncle is Tak Fujimoto, the acclaimed director of cinematography for numerous films including "Silence of the
Lambs." Ms. Heising has also worked as a professional swimsuit model for Ujena and other companies.
She was appointed as Universe Ambassador™ Spokesperson unanimously by the Ambassadorial Society of America's Board of
Directors. She has been an exemplary Fellow within the Society has done much to promote its charities and goals.
Dawna's credentials are impressive. Dawna has painstakingly offered her services to Engeye Medical Clinic in Uganda, where she
raised great awareness of their needs in the United States. As a result, several medical teams from the United States have
travelled to this remote clinic in Uganda to offer their expertise. She also raised funds for medical relief and travel for a young
woman, severely burned from Uganda to the United States.
Dawna is also the President of Heising Communications, a marketing and public relations organization, and works in channel
marketing for a large international software company. She has a B.S. in Business Management and an MBA from Pepperdine
University and a Ph.D. in Business Management from Pacific Western University. She is also listed in “Who’s Who in Technology."
Dawna is a volunteer for the American Heart Association and was the VIP Chairman for the 2007 Orange County Heartwalk. She
served on the 2007 Planning Committee for the Orange County Heart Gala and is currently on the 2008 Planning Committee. Dawna
believes that it is very important to contribute to society and strive to make the world a better place to live in for everyone. Winners
in life know that when we help others to succeed, we experience success ourselves.
She is the CEO/Executive Producer and Host of "Eye on Entertainment," a television interview show on Time Warner Cable and Cox
Communications. This show is a subsidiary of "Eye on Excellence." Through "Eye on Excellence", Dawna interviews successful
and distinguished people in all walks of life with a goal to succeed. Past shows have included interviews on the red carpet at
"Night of 100 Stars" and the "Diversity Awards." Dawna can be seen on many red carpet events, interviewing the greatest media
personalities of our time.
Dawna has recently interviewed Television Academy Hall of Fame inductees:
· Bea Arthur, who is a two-time Emmy® Award-winning and a Tony Award-winning comedienne, actress and singer, and is best
known as “Maude” in the hit television series “Golden Girls”,
· Daniel B. Burke, who was president of Capital Cities Communications for 22 years and CEO of Capital Cities/ ABC until his
retirement in 1994,
· Larry Gelbart, who is a prolific comedy writer with over sixty years of credits. In 1972, Gelbart was one of the main forces behind
the creation of the television series M*A*S*H,
· Merv Griffin, an innovative force in television for nearly half a century, who hosted his syndicated talk show for 23 years and
earned 32 Emmy nominations and 17 Emmys Awards,
· Thomas Murphy, who was chairman and former CEO of Capital Cities/ABC, and built Capital Communications into one of the
country's leading media companies, and
· Sherwood Schwartz, a writer/producer who has been involved with more than 700 television shows, but is still best remembered
for two of the most enduring series, Gilligan's Island (1964-1967) and The Brady Bunch (1969-1974).
Dawna has recently covered the 2009 Oscar Awards, 2009 NAACP Image Awards, Eli Manning's ESPY Giant Event and ESPY party,
and the 2008 Los Angeles Music Awards.
